Seruni Bodjawati is a prominent Indonesian woman artist and contemporary painter, born in Yogyakarta on September 1, 1991. Widely recognized as one of the most influential female artists in Indonesia, she graduated cum laude in Fine Art from the Indonesian Institute of the Arts Yogyakarta (ISI Yogyakarta). A prodigious talent, she began painting at just 10 months old and quickly rose to national and international acclaim.
Her achievements include the Honorary Award from the Director General of Higher Education, Ministry of Education and Culture Indonesia (2012), Best High-Achieving Student at ISI Yogyakarta, multiple Best Painting awards, and Top 12 Best Artwork at the Bazaar Art Award by Harper’s Bazaar Indonesia. She has received numerous prestigious recognitions such as La Femme Awards from Lions Club International as an Inspirational Woman and honors as a leading figure in Indonesian art and culture.

In 2012 she was awarded as Indonesia's Most Inspiring Woman in Art and Culture by Kartini Magazine and Indonesian First Lady, Ani Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono in Kartini Awards 2012, the other nominees for the award were Agnes Monica (singer, actress), Atilah Soeryadjaya (Director and screenwriter of Sendratari Matah Ati), Kamila Andini (Director and screenwriter, the winner of Piala Citra 2011), Encim Masnah (87-year-old maestro gambang kromong classic), Astaliah (119-year-old maestro of South Kalimantan Barikin mask dance), Roesina (Dayak Deyah dancer from South Kalimantan).Seruni has held eight solo exhibitions and dozens of group exhibitions both inside and outside the nation as in Indonesia (Galeri Nasional Indonesia, Edwin's Gallery, The Ritz Carlton Jakarta, Taman Budaya Yogyakarta, Jogja National Museum, etc) Japan (Kyoto), America (New York), Australia (Melbourne), Philippine (Manila), Romania (Bucharest), France (Aix-Marseille, Boulogne & Paris), India (Hyderabad), England (London), Germany (VK Lauterbach), New Zealand (Christchurch), Singapore, Hungary (Budapest & Eger) and Spain (City of Cuenca).
